CEI Students attend awareness session on Electrostatic Discharge.
- Monday, 24 February 2020
First year Undergraduate Students from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics attended an awareness session on Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) presented by Mr Satheesh and Ms Sana. The session not only discussed ESD importance, causes, effects and solutions, but also showcased live demonstrations of ESD equipment. The awe-inspiring live presentation of the Van de Graff generator and student engagement with various demo activities provided students with experiential learning.
Zaya recounted her experience, staying “I absolutely loved our visit to Neuro Technology where we were introduced to the concept and importance of Electrostatic Discharge. My favourite part was the Van de Graff generator experiment, which we all got to be a part of.” Her classmate Firas Ahmed commented, “I thought the session was very informative. We learned a lot about ESD and the equipment it affects. Their soldering courses are something I am excited to look into further.”
Thank you to Roshan Renji, Adjunct Lecturer (CEI) for organising the field trip for the students.
