MDX Success at Sorbonne’s 2nd Annual Model UN

Middlesex University Dubai students gave an outstanding performance at the Model UN event organised by Paris Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi between 15 and 17 March 2018.

The team comprised the following students:

Ahmed Waheed Ahmed Hassan Al Khan – LLB Law

Asiya F Ajmal – LLB Law

Mohamed Nor – LLB Law

Akhil Jinesh – LLB Law

Darrel Sequeira – BA International Business

Neha Nihalani – BSc Psychology with Counselling Skills

Junaid Khan – BA Accounting and Finance

Students competed in three university only committees, debating on topics including the Yemen War, Mental Health in Crisis and the Suez Crisis. The students were also competing against each other, making it all the more challenging.

Team Middlesex won two of the top delegate awards:

Akhil Jinesh – Outstanding Delegate – Delegate of Qatar in the Arab League

Asiya Ajmal – Honourable Mention – Delegate of the Public Health Agency Canada in the Global Health Cluster

The students are now gearing up for the next Model United Nations event in November 2018.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
