CEI: New Industry Partnerships with EC-Council and RedHat

  • Sunday, 16 August 2020

We are excited to announce the Academic partnerships between the Computer Engineering and Informatics department at Middlesex University Dubai and EC-Council and Red Hat.  This is significant as it strengthens our industry-academia partnerships giving our students a wider view on the industry. These industry partnerships continue to grow as in addition to the two partners mentioned prior, we continue to forge solid partnerships with DELL EMC, Cisco, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Epson and Assembly. The collaboration with EC-Council partnership was led by Ms. Engie Bashir and Dr. Fehmida Hussain and for the RedHat partnership it was led by Dr. Krishnadas Nanath and Dr. Fehmida Hussain.

EC-Council being the leader in cybersecurity and ethical hacking, offers the world’s largest cybersecurity technical certification. This partnership will yield a great benefit to our students as they will have access to boot camps which will offer a 5-day intensive campus training with hands-on specialists from EC- Council. The other engagement tools will include workshops, roundtable conferences, cyber-competition, hackathons, and other activities.

Red Hat Academy is an open source education programme that provides turnkey curriculum materials for educational programmes in high schools and institutions of higher education worldwide. The university will offer Red Hat courses and exams to current students, who will receive hands-on instruction, curriculum and labs, performance-based testing, and instructor support.  As part of this association, students will gain access to industry solutions, which will enable them to put classroom theory into practice through demonstrations, problem-solving exercises, case studies, and research programs. This alliance would serve a start for a long term relationship with Red Hat, enhancing industry interface for the university.
