Dr Cody Morris Paris elected as Vice President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s Asia Pacific Chapter

We are thrilled to announce that Dr Cody Morris Paris, Deputy Director of Academic Planning and Research at Middlesex University Dubai has been elected as the Vice President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s Asia Pacific Chapter.  

The Asia Pacific Chapter is the newest TTRA chapter, but incorporates a wide geographic region, from Australia and New Zealand through the Pacific nations, Asia, India and parts of the Middle East.

Cody has been an active member the executive board of the TTRA APAC chapter since 2016. In 2016 the TTRA APAC chapter conference was hosted at Middlesex University Dubai. In 2017, he was part of the board when the TTRA APAC chapter won the Chapter of The Year award at the TTRA International Conference in Quebec City. 

Cody has been an active member of the Travel and Tourism Research Association since 2007. Last June 2018 he co-chaired the 50th Annual International Travel and Tourism Research Conference held in Melbourne, Australia, the first held in the Asia Pacific Region. He has again been appointed as the academic chair for the upcoming 51st Annual International Travel and Tourism Research Association conference taking place in Victoria, British Columbia in June 2020 https://ttra.com/conference/call-papers/

TTRA celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, making it the oldest and one of the largest research organisations in the sector. The Association membership is comprised of Destination Marketing Organisation research managers, industry research users, ‘vendors’ (research consultants), academic researchers and postgraduate students.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
