  • Monday, 4 November 2019

Students on Middlesex University Dubai’s prestigious postgraduate marketing programmes met with four ‘leading lights’ from the industry during the ‘Off-Site Experience’ day held on Saturday 2 November at the Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates.

The opening speaker was Turkey’s Cenk Tasanyurek, Learning and Development Manager at Aventura Parks who shared his career and learning journey and provided insight into the brand’s blue water opportunities and bright future.

The next speaker was Martin Kubler, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Partnership Solutions who came from Germany for the event and spoke to the students about the hotel and hospitality industry.

Dr Alun Epps, Campus Programme Coordinator for the MBA, stated “The MSc team is keen to get experts form the “real world” to engage with the students and this event sees marketing excellent showcased in a matter of hours. Ultimately, there is an assessment based on the day but it is taken for granted that those present will gain immeasurably from interacting with these experts in the local marketing and entrepreneurial community.”

After lunch, long term friend of the University, Swiss serial entrepreneur Matteo Boffa, General Manager at Etuix charmed the audience with his unique perspective of business ethics and the environment.

The last speaker of the day was India’s Ashutosh Sahoo, Head of Marketing for Sobha Reality whose narrative included being head-hunted away from Donald Trump to re-brand a luxury real-estate firm here in the UAE.
