The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.

Under the mentorship of student trainers Chirag Kherajani, Himanshu Kimtani, and Reuben Jude, the initiative thrived with the support of our academic partner FMI who provided scholarship opportunities for our students, while Paul Coulombe from FMI actively supported the team.

This initiative was founded a year ago by Vandhana Rajesh, Shyam Satish and Samson Dsouza who have since graduated from Middlesex University Dubai.

Dr Pallavi Kishore, Head of Accounting and Finance, said: “Financial modeling has become an essential skill in the contemporary landscape, and we’ve adeptly integrated it into our programmes to ensure our students are 100% employable.”

The team showcased their dedication through logo-embedded T-shirts, symbolising their commitment on how they go beyond to celebrate student achievements. All the participants, Foundations badge holders, competition winners and student trainers were felicitated at the grand finale organised on campus.
