CEI Event to Celebrate The International Day Of Women And Girls In Science 2020

To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2020, the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (CEI) organised an a panel discussion on ‘The Role of Women in The Development of Science and Technology: History, Achievements, and Facts’, in collaboration with the Student Activities Department. The panel was moderated by our first-year Student Voice Leader, Sadaf Khan. Three panelists were invited from the CEI alumni, namely Veronica Ho, Ajoke Adeyomoye, and Arundhati Basu. The panelists talked about the role of women in science and technology, women and girls education, female professions, and they also shared their experiences and success stories which were inspiring to our students who attended the event. The panel was followed by a competition through which two teams from the audience participated to design a poster about women in technology. The team with the best poster design won an Arduino board. The event was organised by Dr Maha Sadeh, Lecturer CEI.
