Let’s Go 2021!

  • Sunday, 3 January 2021

Students from across the globe have attended on-campus and online classes today as we begin the new term for our new and returning International Foundation Programme students.

Recognising that flexibility is key for both students and parents, students are able to choose to study 100% online or study via blended learning – a combination of online lectures and face-to-face classes.

As an international student from Jordan, Mariam Sameer chose to study the IFP online. She explains, “Due to the uncertainty around COVID-19, I opted to study online. I chose Middlesex University Dubai as the degree was from the UK but allowed me flexibility of study. It has been a fantastic experience so far.”

Danil Kapranov from Russia joined the programme in September, saying “I was nervous at first but the teachers are so welcoming, as are my fellow classmates. I’m really looking forward to learning on campus in Dubai.”

The International Foundation Programme enables students to choose between 5 pathways, based on their career goals and what they wish to study at undergraduate level: Business, Law and Politics, Psychology, Arts and Media, or Engineering and Computer Informatics.

Maryam Majeed comes from Pakistan and joined the International Foundation Programme in September 2020, opting for the Law and Politics pathway, “My experience of being an IFP student has been great as it is pushing me to go beyond my limits. I chose the blended option which has been excellent, as I’m able to interact with my peers while being socially distanced. The campus itself is very welcoming and you are made to feel comfortable as soon as you step in. One of the key things I’m looking forward to at MDX Dubai is studying LLB Honours Law and organising national events. I really can’t wait for the next chapter to begin.”

Recognising the importance of individual study needs, students are fully supported throughout the programme and provided with the skills and knowledge they need to ensure a smooth transition to their undergraduate studies. Students are also fully supported by the Middlesex University Dubai Centre for Academic Success, which helps students to build and enhance core skills such as writing and communication, as well as offering support for under 18s and regular ‘drop-in’ sessions.

The International Foundation Programme is one of the most popular programmes at Middlesex University Dubai and is designed to allow students to ‘bridge the gap’ between high school and university before progressing onto their chosen undergraduate programme in September.
