MDX Dubai partners with SAS®

Middlesex University Dubai’s M.Sc Data Science and B.Sc BIS Programs are now part of SAS® Joint Certificate Program
SAS, the leader in analytics, has announced that Middlesex University Dubai has joined the many other leading teaching institutions worldwide that now offer SAS Joint Certificate Program. The partnership was officially signed between MDX Dubai and SAS on 17th December 2020 at Middlesex University Dubai. The MoU was signed by Dr. Cedwyn Fernandes (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Middlesex University) and Marcel Yammine (General Manager, Gulf at SAS). Mr. Mahmoud El Yafi (Marketing Go To Market Lead, SAS) and Mr. Ahmed kamal (Global Program Manager, SAS) graced the occasion to kickstart the partnership with Middlesex Univeristy Dubai.
Students enrolling in two programs offered by the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (MSc Data Science and B.Sc BIS) will be offered joint certification by SAS® and Middlesex University. MDX Dubai joins the selected list of universities in the Middle East to have their programs certified by SAS®. Middlesex University becomes the first university in the UAE to offer SAS certified programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The program addresses the global shortage of skilled analysts by helping universities prepare students to compete in today’s data-rich business environment. The joint certificate also provides capstone projects for the final thesis using SAS software to solve real-world business problems. Students earning a joint Middlesex Dubai/ SAS® certification can also claim an Academic Program Digital Badge, allowing them to communicate their credentials in an ever-expanding online marketplace. This digital image contains verified metadata that describes the qualifications and the process required to earn them.
The tie-up between SAS® and Middlesex University Dubai resulted from a rigorous mapping process of the content offered at the Dubai campus with the SAS curriculum. As part of this partnership, all learning materials and SAS® software licenses will be provided to Middlesex University Dubai students. The students enrolled in these programs will have the option to access the content and choose several additional SAS certification options. The alliance was initiated by Dr. Krishnadas Nanath and Dr. Fehmida Hussain.
