Facilitating Student Transition into Higher Education

Last week, Faiza Umar and Siobhan McNiff held a workshop on 'Facilitating Student Transition into Higher Education' for 30 high school teachers and school counsellors from across the region. Dr Cody Paris welcomed the participants and provided information about the University's MA Education, PGCertHE and other relevant courses, before handing over to Faiza and Siobhan who highlighted aspects of student transition so that participants could have a clear idea how to assist their staff and students to identify and inculcate the academic skills that are crucial in higher education.
After the session, the participants had the opportunity to network with one another before taking a tour of the campus and speaking to the University’s Admissions Team.
