Accounting and Finance Career Day

  • Wednesday, 19 February 2020

We held Accounting & Finance Career Day on 19th February, 2020 with guest talks from professional bodies including CIMA, ICAEW, IMA, ACCA, CFA and Deloitte. The students understood the difference between the qualifications and explored which avenues they are interested in.

In line with our biz*buzz theme on Ethics, we had a very interesting and interactive guest session on ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ by Mr. Amit Kapur, Head of Legal Structuring and Finance at HSBC. He spoke about the recent scandals and the measures banks adopt to combat crimes related to money laundering which involves identifying and assessing risks, establishing policies and control and reporting suspicious activity.

Many thanks to Dr. Vijaya Kumar and Ms. Mariam Aslam for putting this together. Both sessions were very well attended and students enjoyed being a part of it!
