Middlesex Insights Lab welcomes Dr Amit Garg for Guest Session Series

  • Friday, 29 November 2019

MDX Insights Lab welcomed Dr Amit Garg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amit_Garg), a world record holder in Mathematics to talk about problem-solving, Data Science and Optimization at Middlesex University Dubai. Amit delivered this session on 25th November 2019 and it was open for Middlesex students and the members of Insights Lab. His session included Hands-on Case Studies in Operations Research & Data Science. He also covered the Linear programming models for business problems along with a data science case study of “fare prediction of airfare” using python. Students also got an opportunity to ask how industrial problems, data science & optimization are used in the industry. It was a superb experience when students asked Dr. Amit to demonstrate his mental calculation of square roots and he did it before they could do it using a calculator.

To attend future guest sessions, workshops and use case nights in analytics and data science, sign up as a member of Insights Lab: https://www.mdx.ac.ae/insightsx-lab

If you wish to bring in an analytics expert for Insights Lab guest session series, please write to Dr. Krishnadas Nanath ([email protected]). This lab is supported by the Center of Innovation in Human Experience.
