FLN: ‘Thinking Outside the Box’

The Future Lawyers Network held its second session entitled: “Thinking outside the box” on Monday, 6th of March 2017. The session set to explore non-conventional career paths for law graduates and unlock the wide range of options that law graduates may consider pursuing their career. Our distinguished guests: Dr Abeer Jarrar, ex-diplomat and Senior Associate at Clifford Chance; Nadim Al-Jisr, Head of Content at Westlaw Thomson Reuters; Ilham Kabbouri, Paralegal at Hogan Lovells; Maali Khader, Principal Case Manager at Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre; and Katherine Nixon, Senior Associate PSL at Clifford Chance, looked into several alternative paths and non-conventional career opportunities available for law graduates. They stressed that the significance of a law degree not only lies with preparing students for a legal career, but also with offering valuable transferrable skills and a strong foundation for a continuous learning journey, as well as, career success in a wide range of industries.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
