International Literacy Day
- September 8 2018
As we commemorate the International Literacy Day, it is important to acknowledge the value of the learning support that students receive beyond their regular classrooms. At Middlesex University Dubai, the Centre for Academic Success (CAS) offers that additional support to help build academic, social and personal competencies, with the intention of fostering independent learning within the students while also ensuring that they are equipped with lifelong skills that will secure their integration into the society.
Through CAS, students have access to trained professionals and academic counsellors who can assist with various aspects of their studies at University. Whether it is helping the under-18s transition into university life, or offering personalised support to students with learning disabilities, the staff at CAS are constantly endeavouring to provide guidance and support, thereby promoting a culture of inclusivity throughout the University. If you are an existing student, an aspiring one, a staff member, a parent or a member of our community, let us all make a pledge today to do whatever we can, in our respective capacities, to honour and uphold the values endorsed by the UN on this International Literacy Day.
