Middlesex University Dubai students participate in the CFA Research Challenge

  • Thursday, 1 March 2018

Middlesex University Dubai Accounting & Finance students Mahesh, Edwin, Mehek and Aishwarya delivered a professional presentation at the CFA Research Challenge held in Abu Dhabi last week. The presentation focused on the valuation and investment strategy of a sample company – RAK Ceramics.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students are able to gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst and are tested on their ability to value stock, write an ‘initiation-of-coverage’ report and present their recommendation (Buy, Sell or Hold).

Six university teams participated in this year’s competition, with a panel of five judges present to observe and evaluate the presentations. All judges were CFA charter holders and by profession, equity and financial analysts at leading companies.

The team were mentored by Middlesex University Dubai’s Dr Rajesh Mohnot and supported by industry mentor Mr Nag Yallamnchili.

Middlesex University Dubai students supported by Middlesex Innovation Hub participated in the TiE-U 2024 GCC/UAE Final Pitch Competition.
