Students are challenged to think beyond the textbook by analysing legal principles and applying them to practical situations, assessing competing arguments and choosing between alternative approaches. The Business School has been a major provider of business, management and professional accredited programmes for more than a decade, with a sound record of working in partnership with public and private sector organisations within the UAE. Designed to meet the needs of employers and organisations, students develop into professionals who are able to manage ethically, sensitively and holistically across a range of sectors.
Accounting and Finance
Our Accounting and Finance programmes are recognised globally as offering excellent preparation for professionals in the field. Our team consists of a diverse group of internationally qualified and renowned scholars and practitioners who specialise in key discipline areas including management accounting, banking regulations, corporate finance, econometrics, data analytics and many more. The department puts a strong emphasis on employability and we have developed strong industry links. Our expert academic staff consult for leaders in business and government. Our learning facilities are state-of-the-art and we have received recognition of our programmes from some of the world’s leading professional bodies including the ACCA, UAECA, CIMA, CFA, CIPFA, GARP and ICAEW. We aim to produce leading research that impacts policy and practice.
Computer Engineering and Informatics
The Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at Middlesex University Dubai encompasses modern engineering, technology and computing taught by award-winning faculty with decades of collective industry and academic experience. Our students are given an edge through partnerships with leading STEM organisations in the Middle East and around the world and are able to pursue coveted industry qualifications as part of their curriculum. Through leading research conducted by our Centre for Innovation in Human Experience, students are also exposed to cutting-edge technologies and concepts such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Data Science during their studies, equipping them to pursue global, impactful careers in this in-demand field. The Department of Psychology offers a solid grounding in modern psychology through a mixture of theoretical and professional practice, offering the opportunity to specialise in a range of pathways. Our students are encouraged to consider how psychology interacts with other academic disciplines such as Human Resource Management, Marketing, Education and Crimonology, equipping them to pursue global careers in a range of industries where an applied knowledge of human behaviour and experiences will ensure they stand out to potential employers. Students also gain exposure to the world of clinical , counseling, health, and industrial psychology and develop the counselling and interpersonal skills needed to undertake further postgraduate training to practice as clinical, counselling, health, and industrial psychologists.
Art and Design
The School of Art and Design at Middlesex University Dubai comprises of Graphic Design and Fashion Design. The programmes are taught in state-of-the-art design labs and our newly built Fashion Studio featuring its very own runway. Students are exposed to a variety of design mediums and encourage to build their technical skills and discover their design identity.
Recognised as the ‘Best Media Centre’ in the region by Forbes Middle East (2019), Middlesex University Dubai’s School of Media directly responds to the ever-changing ways in which we communicate. These vibrant programmes are taught by expert faculty with an array of industry experience, bring a diverse range of skillsets and knowledge to the classroom. Students are encouraged to participate in internships, field trips and competitions, and have won various awards at events such as the Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity and the Dubai Film Festival.
Health and Education
Middlesex University Dubai’s School of Health and Education covers many areas of study including sociology, leadership, management, curriculum studies, best practice and child developments. Students are encourage to self-reflect and be able to identify and articulate their personal competencies through the many varied opportunities provided, along with the benefit of studying in a rich, diverse and culturally stimulating setting. Graduates of these programmes hold a well-developed selection of skills including communication, problem-solving and teamwork.
International Foundation Programme
The International Foundation Programme is a 30 week programme designed for students who wish to study at Middlesex University Dubai but who may not meet the necessary entry requirements for direct entry onto one of our undergraduate programmes. The IFP prepares students for enrolment onto one of our many Bachelor’s Degrees and allows them to settle into life on campus and bridge the gap between high school and university education. Students can choose to specialise in Business, Law and Politics, Psychology, Arts and Media, or Engineering and Computer Informatics.

Middlesex University Dubai inks MOUs with Hunton Andrews Kurth and AWS Legal Consultancy in boost to pro bono initiative
As part of Middlesex University Dubai’s Law and Politics Department’s commitment to bridging academia with practice through its pro bono initiative, the University has signed two MOUs with international law firm Hunton Andrews Kurth (HAK) and leading local firm AWS Legal Consultancy (AWS). The MOUs were signed on Monday 28th November 2022 alongside the launch of JURIS Centre of Excellence for Legal Education and Training at the University’s Dubai Knowledge Park campus.David Pang, Partner (Solicitor) at HAK, and Aws M. Younus, Chairman at AWS, were in attendance to represent their organisations. Dr Tenia Kyriazi, Deputy Director Academic Operations, Head of Law and Politics and Dr Daphne Demetriou, Senior Lecturer, Campus Programme Coordinator – Postgraduate Law and Politics, both faculty members at Middlesex University Dubai, facilitated the partnerships with these prominent industry players.The University’s pro bono initiative engages law students with pro bono legal advice, supporting the lawyers of the two firms through research and drafting, as well other activities to raise awareness of the firms’ pro bono services and advance the importance of pro bono legal services in Dubai.The initiative aligns with Middlesex University’s global Strategy to 2031, which aims to create knowledge and put it into action to benefit students and society. These MOUs are part of the department’s overarching Pro Bono Project, which utilises collaboration with different law firms and leading institutions to enhance students’ practice-based learning whilst supporting the wider community in Dubai. MDX Dubai launches JURIS Centre of Excellence for Legal Education and Training
Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai celebrated the launch of JURIS Centre of Excellence for Legal Education and Training on 28th November in the presence of the Advisory Board, industry professionals, faculty and students. The JURIS Centre of Excellence for Legal Education and Training provides a platform for a wide range of quality legal education initiatives and professional training activities, in collaboration with our industry partners. JURIS brings together all of the experience, expertise and initiatives of its members and our partners. MDX Dubai has always been committed to delivering excellence in legal education, both in and outside of the classroom. The establishment of JURIS is the culmination of many years of dedication to ensuring that we are leading the way in the development of legal pedagogy, producing graduates who are ready to enter the workforce and providing opportunities for continued professional development.Samantha Roberts, Head of JURIS Centre of Excellence for Legal Education and Training, said: “We are thrilled to have been joined by so many of our partners as we celebrate the launch of JURIS. Multi Stakeholder Dialogue: MDX Dubai at Dubai Chamber of Commerce Centre for Responsible Business
Rhoderick Romano, UG Business Faculty and Member of the Institute of Sustainable Development – Middlesex University Dubai, participated in a Multi Stakeholder Dialogue as part of Sustainability Week 2022 at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Centre for Responsible Business on 25th November 2022. Rhoderick delivered the keynote speech about Materiality Assessments and was part of the panel discussion. The event also had Rana Hajirasouli, COO of Cyrus Group of Companies and Raji Hattar, Chief Sustainability Officer of Aramex as speakers. Middlesex University Dubai was also represented by Rashita Puthiya, Accounting & Finance Faculty, and our some of our Accounting & Finance students. This was a great opportunity for students to go beyond the classroom and see how goals for sustainability are approached from different institutions. Middlesex University Dubai was able to fulfil its role as a responsible corporate citizen being a Community Partner of the Chamber.

Whether you are studying at our Dubai Knowledge Park or Dubai International Academic City campus, you will have access to excellent facilities. Our DKP Campus is home to our fantastic new MDX Social Hub, housing a state-of-the-art gym, dance studio and gaming room. The huge library space, and extensive spacious study areas, can be found across both campuses. The specialist labs and advanced learning spaces really make learning in the classroom, a thing of the past. There’s also plenty of places to eat and socialise both on an off campus, including Starbucks, Costa, Subway and much more.
