Scholarship and Grants

Middlesex University Dubai understands the importance of rewarding new students for their achievements, and we have various financial rewards available at the University.

Students may apply for one scholarship or one grant at a time, unless otherwise stated. The scholarship or grant will be divided over the duration of the course of study (i.e for Undergraduate Programmes this will be divided over the three years).

Please be aware that scholarships and grants are at the discretion of the University and are only available for new students.

WAEC MU Scholarship Points

Students should be aware that this scholarship is only applicable to those enrolling for International Foundation Programme or Undergraduate Programmes. The scholarship is spread over the duration of study at Middlesex University Dubai and all scholarships and grants are at the discretion of the University.

Middlesex University Dubai offers a 10 percent grant for candidates who wish to enrol on any one of our Postraduate Programmes offered in September 2018. The deadline for this grant is Saturday 15 December 2018.

In order to secure the grant, students are required to apply, enrol and pay their first installment by the above deadline. For those studying part-time, the grant will be divided across the two years of study.

Here at Middlesex University Dubai, we recognise the significant contribution that schools make in preparing their students for success.

Students who are joining the University from one of our Partner Schools may receive a School Progression Grant on the below basis:

Academic Excellence Scholarship

Any student from a Partner School who is eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship will be awarded a further grant of AED 5,000 towards their total tuition fees.

If a student from a Partner School is NOT eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship, they will receive a grant of AED 15,000 towards their total tuition fees.

The Sporting Excellence Scholarship is for students who have shown aptitude in sporting and academic performance prior to joining Middlesex University Dubai, and wish to fulfill both their sporting and academic ambitions whilst at the University.

The scholarship is awarded for success and achievements in sports at a national and/or international level within any organised sport (individual or team). The scholarship is deducted from the total tuition fees of the programme the student wishes to study.

Please be aware that the Sporting Excellence Scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of the University.

Middlesex University Dubai enables APTECH students to enter either Year 2 or Year 3 of BSc Information Technology or BSc Business Information Systems.*

APTECH students entering into Year 3 are able to redeem a 20% scholarship towards the total tuition fees.*

APTECH students entering into Year 2 are able to redeem a 10% scholarship towards the total tuition fees.*

*Please be aware that the year of entry is dependent on the programme studied at APTECH. All scholarships and grants offered by the University are subject to approval.

Middlesex University Dubai engages with corporations to enable students to gain valuable industry exposure during their studies. One of our main goals is to encourage our students to understand the way various corporations operate to prepare them for their future careers. In support of this goal, the University hosts a wide range of career days, seminars and forums, and invites industry experts to the campus to give guest lectures.

The University continues to build corporate relationships within a wide variety of industry and sectors. As part of this initiative, we provide employees of our Corporate Partners with a Corporate Partnership Study Grant of 20%, which can be redeemed against any of our Postgraduate Programmes.

New students who have an immediate family member (spouse, siblings or children) studying at the University are eligible to receive a 10% study grant.

Please note that this scholarship cannot be redeemed alongside an Academic Excellence Scholarship.

Graduates who have studied an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Programme with Middlesex University Dubai and want to enrol for further studies can receive a 20% Alumni Study Grant towards their total tuition fees.

Terms and Conditions

  • All scholarships and grants at Middlesex University Dubai have specific criteria for eligibility and can only be awarded by the Scholarship Committee of the University.
  • All Scholarships or Grants will be divided over the duration of study, 1,2, 3, or 4 years, dependent on level of entry.
  • All students are eligible for the Early Enrollment Grant (EEG) if enrolled during the specific time frame given.
  • Students are eligible for one scholarship or one grant (other than the Early Enrollment Grant EEG)
  • All scholarships and grants awarded will be confirmed in writing.
  • New students must satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for admission prior to being awarded a scholarship or grant.
  • Scholarships and grants are awarded towards tuition fees only, they do not include other costs of studying such as housing, living expenses, transportation, field trips or text books.
  • Scholarships and grants are valid for the term offered and cannot be deferred. All conditions of offer must be fulfilled before a scholarship can be awarded.
  • Candidates receiving scholarships or grants with continuing benefits must maintain the minimum requirements for attendance and academic performance. If a student fails to do so, the University may withdraw the award.
  • Please note: Scholarships and Grants are not transferable to other Middlesex University Campuses.

For the merit based scholarships, you will be informed about the scholarship you may be eligible for and should you meet the criteria you will automatically receive the scholarship.

Middlesex University Dubai has partnered with Cambridge International Examinations Middle East and North Africa to offer a scholarship scheme rewarding Cambridge students who have excelled in their IGCSEs, AS and A Levels.

Each year Cambridge awards candidates that have achieved ‘Top in the Country’ and ‘Top in the World’ for a particular subject at IGCSE, Cambridge International A & AS Levels, and also award candidates who have achieved ‘Best Across’ a set number of subjects at each stage.

Scholarship Details

Cambridge World Toppers – 100% Academic Scholarship

A full academic scholarship on any undergraduate programme tuition fee – Max 2 candidates


Criteria: 
This scholarship is applicable for candidates that have received the following awards from Cambridge International Examinations:

Cambridge International AS & A Levels 
Winners of ‘Top in the World’ award for an Academic subject at A Level

Outstanding Cambridge Learners - 75% Academic Scholarship

A 75% academic scholarship on any undergraduate programme tuition fee – Max 3 candidates

 
Criteria: This scholarship is applicable for candidates that have received the following awards from Cambridge International Examinations:

Criteria: This scholarship is applicable for candidates that have received the following results from Cambridge International Examinations:

This scholarship is applicable for candidates that achieve following Grades:

A* & A’ – AED 65,000
A* & B /2A’s – AED 40,000
A*&C/D or A&B/C or 2 B’s - AED 35,000
A & D or B & C – AED 20,000

(All fees are excluding VAT)


Terms & Conditions

  • This scheme is applicable to candidates that were awarded their Cambridge qualification in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan) and is valid from 2018 until 2021.
  • Academic scholarships are only applied to tuition fees do not cover costs of travel, accommodation, books, food or any other costs. Student has to score avg. of 4 and above in 75% of Module with no fails to carry forward the scholarship to next year.
  • ‘Top in the World’ awards for language and arts subjects may not be considered for this scholarship.
  • Only candidates that have completed their Cambridge International AS / A Levels in the same year of their admission to University will be considered for this scheme. Candidates eligible for a scholarship based on their IGCSE results must have completed them no more than 2 years prior.
  • All candidates must have a letter of acceptance / offer letter from the awarding University and meet all required admission requirements in order to be eligible. It is applicable for new students enroling during January and September 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 intakes.
  • Candidates will be provided with the opportunity to carry forward their scholarship to the following year at the discretion of the University.
  • High achiever awards are announced in October each year – therefore, if a student enrols in a participating University and receives a 50% scholarship but is then eligible for a 75% or 100% scholarship, this will be honored by the University.

GEMS School Scholarship

Middlesex University Dubai has partnered with GEMS Education, one of the leading and largest education providers in the UAE, to provide Scholarships and Grants for students graduating from their high schools in the GEMS Global Network.

A minimum of 150 Scholarships will be awarded to student/employees of GEMS Schools each academic year.

Academic Excellence Scholarships

All GEMS students are also eligible for the Middlesex University Dubai Academic Excellence Scholarship of which is awarded based on academic merit. Click here to view the eligibility for Scholarships.

GEMS School Grants

Students who have graduated from one of the schools within the GEMS Global Network but are not eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship, will be provided with a School Partnership Grant of AED 20,000*. If students are eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship, they will instead be provided with an additional grant of AED 5,000 on top of the Scholarship awarded.

*Please note that the School Partnership Grant is only provided to those students enrolling on IFP or Undergraduate Programmes.

GEMS Education Employee Grant

All GEMS Education employees are eligible for a 20% Grant on Tuition Fees for all Postgraduate Programmes. Teachers from any GEMS School are eligible for a 25% Teacher Grant if enrolling for the MA Education or BA Early Childhood Studies Programmes.

If you are an employee of GEMS Education and your child wishes to enrol with Middlesex University Dubai, they will be awarded with a Corporate Engagement Programme (CEP) Grant of AED 20,000*.

*Please note that the Corporate Engagement Programme Grant is only provided to those students enrolling on IFP or Undergraduate Programmes. It can not be used in conjunction with any other Scholarship or Grant which the student may be eligible for.

Middlesex University Dubai endeavours to work with our local community to ensure that we are educating the students of tomorrow. As part of this initiative, we support schools across the region by providing teachers and staff members with a route of Continued Professional Development.

Teachers and school staff members enrolling on to one of the University’s Education Programmes will receive a Teacher Engagement Grant of 25% towards their total tuition fees. For all other Postgraduate Programmes, teachers and staff members will receive a 20% Study Grant.

Please be aware that this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
