MDX Annual Career Fair 2023

  • Thursday, 16 February 2023

Middlesex University Dubai’s largest ever Career Fair 2023, organised by the Careers and Employability Services team (CES), was held from 15-16 February 2023, providing a platform for our global student community to network with over 120 prominent companies across various sectors and industries.
More than 1,000 current students and recent alumni attended the event to explore the employability opportunities at a range of leading global entities. Global and regional top employers in attendance included Emirates Airlines, Apparel Group, Al Tamimi & Co, Hilti, Talabat, Chalhoub Group, Coty, L’Oréal, DHL, and Porsche.
Attendees were able to enquire about opportunities for jobs and internships, as well as find out about strategic projects and hackathons ran by leading employers, which provide jobseekers with the chance to highlight their professional profiles and build their experience.
Employers from diverse sectors such as Zuleika Hospital, Wunderman Thompson, and Hilti provided unique opportunities for students of the University’s highly specialised programmes, including healthcare management, digital media, and data science. To inspire up-and-coming entrepreneurs, local start-up firms like Gorilla and Skill Buzz were present to offer exciting opportunities for Fashion and Informatics students. MDX Dubai Psychology graduates and finalist students were also praised by Behaviour Enrichment Co., who had a steady stream of visitors all day.
The majority of companies expressed keenness to meet several candidates for further recruitment consideration following the event. Several organisations who were scheduled to attend for one day also chose to join on the second day, as they were impressed by the caliber of students and their experience and expertise.
We are especially proud that our Career Fair hosted many employers who are inclusivity-focused employers, such as organisations like "ImInclusive" who were specifically looking to interact with our students and alumni who are People of Determination. ImInclusive was founded by Middlesex University Dubai alumni Hafsa Qadeer.
Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University and Director of Middlesex University Dubai, said: “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our industry partners for their support and enthusiasm in making the event a tremendous success. Their presence and commitment have had a significantly positive impact our students and alumni, and we are grateful for their contribution to supporting the next generation of talent.”
