Content warning: Discussions of suicide and self-harm
Our next mdxMindset Talks event is taking place on Thursday 26th January at 2PM (UAE time), where we will be discussing how we can reduce the stigma around feelings of suicide and self-harm.
We are holding this session virtually due to the sensitive nature of the topic, and to ensure that anyone who attends is as comfortable as possible.
It is incredibly important that communities come together and ensure that anyone who needs help is able to reach out to someone. Many people suffer in silence and worry that reaching out will cause shame and further isolation. We want everyone to feel comfortable seeking help.
In this conversation with practicing psychologists and representatives from organisations who work on suicide prevention, we will discuss suicide awareness and self-harm, including signs and support.
We hope you will join us to spread the word: it’s ok to talk about whatever you are going through. You are not alone.
We invite all students, parents, faculty and community members to join us to discuss and shed light on this important topic and reduce the stigma globally around suicide, self-harm and seeking support.
Please feel free to share the details of this session with anyone who you feel would benefit or wish to attend.
Registration is necessary- if you would like to register anonymously, please write 'Anonymous' in the name fields and use any non-identifying email address.
There is a space on the registration form for questions/comments that participants would like considered during the session.
