Upskilling Series: Financial Modelling Society - Hands-on Workshop by FMI

Aim: Enhance employability opportunities by building essential skill sets through student-led societies. The program aligns with the ‘Middlesex Approach’ of co-leading with students and building an active community of practice.

Objective: Upskilling the students on financial modelling techniques and encouraging them to enhance their career prospects by taking certifications from our academic partner, Financial Modelling Institute (FMI), Canada.

Target audience: Undergraduate Accounting and Finance and Business School students 

Series:

1. Hands-on Workshop by FMI: Mr Ian Schnoor, Executive Director at FMI, will conduct a one-hour workshop/ information session on Monday, 21^stNovember 2022, from 1-2 PM at the university.
2. Student-led Workshops: Three students in their final year of BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance have been offered a 100% scholarship for the Foundations Beta certification (basic level) by FMI. These students have founded a society and will conduct five workshops (of one hour each) training the students on financial modelling using MS Excel.

• Sessions 2 - 5: TBC

1. Professional Certification: FMI has offered discounts to our students for the certifications. The Foundation Beta program (regular price $195) will be offered to our students at $75, and Advanced Financial Modeler (regular price $695) will be offered at $295.
