MIH Global Entrepreneurship Week: The Main Event

Middlesex University Dubai and the MDX Innovation Hub will mark Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) from November 13-19 by hosting a series of inspiring activities and exciting competitions involving all faculties and year groups.

The theme for #GEW2023 is "Entrepreneurs Thrive Here", and the campaign serves as an opportunity to collaborate and engage with organisations and individuals to celebrate and spotlight entrepreneurs, expose people to the path of entrepreneurship, help them get started and facilitate access to capital and the resources to grow.

Thursday 16 November will be the headline day, with activities, talks, showcases and workshops throughout in our newly launched Study District.

The event will launch with a word from Professor Fehmida Hussain and Eleni Kitra from the MDX Innovation Hub, and a welcome from Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, before leading into guest talks and discussions. 

We will hear from Mohammed Mukhtar Jahangeer, Co-Founder of Unipreneur inc. about his work as a trailblazer of the future, and have a key-note talk by Rishikesh Trivedi,  Founder of MarketMate, Co-Founder of Enabler ONE, MEA Director of iSource and more. 

After some networking, students will be able to take a short workshop on ‘Debunking Misconception of Innovation’.

Simultaneously, we will be showcasing some of our student's work such as last year’s ‘Technovation’ competition winners, and posters of research developed by GEW student participants.

Three of our MSc Robotics students Vaibhav Garg, Dileep Kumar and Wajih Mechlawi will show some of their innovative work that was also presented at the recent GITEX conference in October, while MBA students will present their innovation and entrepreneurship-related projects in poster form.
