Mariam holds a B.A. Hons in Criminology, an M.A. in Education Leadership and Policy, a PGCert in Higher Education, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Mariam’s approach to development is both experience- and research-based: she has initiated and coordinated programmes with non-profit and welfare organizations in the Americas and Middle East, founded a MENA-based non-profit conflict resolution programme, and co-developed an educational world simulation to enhance problem-solving skills.
She is currently a senior lecturer in Social Science, Criminology, and Forensic Psychology and is the Head of the MDX Dubai Wellness Office. Mariam is a member of the Teaching and Learning Committee as well as a faculty Inclusivity Champion on campus.
