  • Wednesday, 19 January 2022

On Thursday 13th January 2022, the first Careers and Employability Services Bootcamp for 2022 took place with over 111 participants joining a range of sessions dedicated to insightful topics such as CV and cover letter writing, public speaking and more. The sessions were facilitated by Mohammad Meraj, Head of Academic Professional Services and Quality, and Dr Lynda Hyland, Head of Careers and Employability Services (CES).

The insightful and interactive CV and cover-letter writing workshop was well-received by the students attending the bootcamp, who appreciated the suggestions based on the latest requirements of local and global organisations.

As a follow-up, Katharina Hicker, PR Consultant, Public Speaking Trainer, and MD of Castleforbes Communications, introduced our students to how they can develop effective public speaking skills during her session entitled “How to recognise and create speaking opportunities”. She encouraged the attendees to push boundaries and explore more such opportunities to accelerate their careers.

Dr Lynda Hyland then conducted an interactive session about how to ace any interview. Following this, a panel of Middlesex University Dubai’s alumni speakers provided a taste of the corporate culture and global employment opportunities and journeys on offer to our future graduates. Students took this opportunity to actively participate and network with alumni about how to achieve their dream jobs.

The alumni who shared their exciting careers so far were:
