- Tuesday, 7 December 2021
Our Admissions Team and Careers and Employability Service (CES) participated in the inaugural DIFC Future Talent Week from 22nd to 24th November 2021 at DIFC Innovation Hub. More than 90 of our students (both current and alumni) registered through the CES to attend the three-day programme, which allowed them to meet with hiring companies and attend panel discussions about building a career and how companies have been impacted by the pandemic.
The Talent Week saw the participation of many companies like McKinsey and Co, Emirates NBD, Tabby who are seeking to hire candidates. Our Admissions Counsellors also attended the event to speak to prospective students about how our programmes are centered around professional development and career-based learning.
The event was launched with a debate tackling the question “The Great Post Covid Battle - Do We Build or Buy?”, which was hosted by Mr Mohammad Al Balooshi, Sector Head, DIFC Fintech. The panel consisted of Mr Tom Woolf (Founder and CEO, EdAid), Ms Eman Abdulrazzaq (Group Chief Human Resources, Emirates NBD), Mr Jon Ede (Regional Director, Middle East, Michael Page), Hanna Nordell (Chief People Officer, Talabat) and Hosam Arab (CEO and Co-Founder, Tabby). The debate discussed how companies have pivoted to meet the challenges of the pandemic by implementing strategies focused on sustainable growth, remote operations, and employee retention. Panelists also discussed changes in hiring requirements, policies, and employee wellbeing.
The session was followed by a Fireside Chat with H.E Nasser Bin Kherbash (Undersecretary, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation). The chat shed light on the initiatives being taken by the UAE government during the pandemic, how the country handled the pandemic, and discussed upcoming regulations in the UAE.
