Youth Festival 2019

Last week, Youth Fest competition week saw more than 900 students competing in over 38 different sports and social categories both on and off campus. Along with an army of coordinators, student volunteers, staff members, we also had judges from the industry including film producers, photographers and videographers, dance choreographers, and artists who helped select the winners of Middlesex University Dubai’s 10th Annual Youth Fest. The Grand Finale of Youth Fest will take place on the Queen Elizabeth 2 (Port Rashid, Dubai) on 22 March 2019 – tickets are selling fast!

Saturday 9 March

Youth Fest 2019 kicked off with over 150 students participating in both Athletics and Football competitions at GEMS World Academy.

Sunday 10 March

The second day of Youth Fest saw students get involved in a wide variety of competitions including Table Tennis, Billiards and Advert Design. The popular Drama category was judged by Vishakha Verma from Vishakha’s Dance and Music Training Institute, with monologue and short skit winners making their debut at the QE2 on 22 March 2019.

Monday 11 March

Students battling it out to be the winner of the Gaming competition played Fortnite at the renowned gaming club Rails in JLT on the third day of Youth Fest. At Jumeirah Baccalaureate School students also took part in Basketball and Badminton tournaments. Back on campus, students enjoyed a film screening and judging in the Oasis Theatre, and members of staff and students were able to look at all of the photography submissions displayed in the Lobby of Block 16.

Tuesday 12 March

The fourth day of Youth Fest saw budding artists showcase their talents in the comic strip and poetry competitions. Over 80 students took part in the bowling competition, and female and male students took part in the Cricket tournament.

Wednesday 13 March

It was another eventful day during the fifth day of Youth Fest 2019 as competitions took place within the art, chess, culinary, debate and volleyball categories.

Thursday 14 March

The last day of Youth Fest competition week witnessed FIFA addicts battling it out to be crowned the Youth Fest 2019 FIFA winner. Students also showcased their brilliant communication and debate skills within the Public Speaking and Debate categories, and finally students built their strength in the Gym Challenge.

Grand Finale

The finale of Youth Fest 2019 will be taking place this Friday 22 March 2019 on the prestigious Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel from 6pm onwards. Students will perform across Dance, Music, Drama and Fashion in what is guaranteed to be a night to remember. Tickets are selling fast! Get yours now in the Lobby of Block 16 from 10am to 2pm.
