Three Middlesex University Dubai top performing LLB students, Maimoona Nalkhande, Joanna Gigi Varghese and Carina Watkins were awarded scholarships to attend the core Certificate programme “Introduction to DIFC Courts’ Procedures for 2016”, developed by the DIFC Dispute Resolution Authority’s (DRA) Academy of Law in association with LexisNexis. The scholarship, generously offered to our students by the Academy of Law, a valuable partner of Middlesex University Dubai, takes the form of a full waiver of tuition, which has a per student retail price of USD $4,090.
This certificate is unique and forms part of Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Initiatives for Legal Excellence and it will be taught in collaboration with leading common law practitioners in the DIFC. It comprises of 12 distinct courses, covering a wide variety of areas, including, Commencing a Claim, Disputing Jurisdiction, the Early Disposal of Claims, Case Management, Interim Remedies, Evidence, Preparations for Trial, Appeals, Costs, Enforcement and Introduction to the Wills and Probate Registry. The Programme started on Monday 15 August 2016 and will be completed on 11 October 2016.
