On Saturday 28th May 2016 the DIFC Dispute Resolution Authority Academy of Law in conjunction with Middlesex University Dubai hosted a conference on UAE and DIFC Employment Law at Middlesex University Dubai. The conference was a resounding success attended by 68 delegates from the Legal and Human Resources community in Dubai. Speakers included Thenji Macanda, Senior Associate, Taylor Wessing; Luke Tapp, Head of Middle East Employment Practice, Pinsent Masons LLP; Emma Davies, ALEC; Bushra Ahmed, Barrister and Head of Dispute Resolution, KBH Kaanuun, DIFC Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year and Shiraz Sethi, Head of Employment, Stephenson Harwood Middle East LLP, DIFC Young Lawyer of the Year 2015. Delegates were given interesting, informative, up to date and firsthand accounts of the law, practice and jurisprudence relating to all aspects of employment law in the UAE generally and the DIFC in particular. The conference concluded with a panel discussion hosted by the speakers in which the audience fully engaged with their own experiences and questions relating to these seminal issues of UAE law and business.
