2015 is a year of phenomenal opportunities for the entire world - this was the key message from Aaron Sherinian, Chief communications officer for the UN Foundation who delivered an inspirational talk at Middlesex's Dubai campus this week.
Aaron was visiting the UAE from Washington DC, promoting December's "Paris Climate Hub" to government officials and local business leaders. He passed through Middlesex to offer encouragement to Undergraduates enrolled in programs covering the recently launched Sustainable Development Goals (#theGlobalGoals).
The UN Foundation's communications chief said: "Students always have the best energy, enthusiasm and ideas! I loved the chance to guest lecture at Middlesex University Dubai today regarding global PR trends, communications and, of course, the GlobalGoals."
The Global Goals (www.globalgoals.org) are 17 areas of focus which were agreed by World Leaders in September. They will achieve three extraodinary things in the next 15 years - ending extreme poverty, fighting inequality and injustice and fixing climate change.
First year students in the School of Media and Performing Arts are planning a special Day of Action to help build awareness of the Global Goals in the Spring term. Students, companies or experts who wish to know more about this initiative, or offer volunteer their time are invited to email email@example.com.
