RTA’s Smart Government is a pioneering initiative to provide government online services,  leveraging the mobile phone, across the community life in Dubai. The project aims to enage the youth of Dubai to:

• Brainstorm innovative ideas on transforming its services to the mobile channels
• Obtain their feedback as RTA service users on look and feel, navigation and functionality on the mobile
• Participate in performing service testing prior to launch

The key areas of stduents invlovement in the project are: Service design, Prototype, and  User acceptance testing . The project is based on five waves to be completed till May 2015. Each wave consisting of 3 sessions in which stduents will participate.

The RTA’s collaboration with Middlesex University Dubai started in February 2014 as an intitaive by Ms. Muneeza Shoaib (MDX ) and Ms. Saima Mehmood (RTA). It was followed by a presenation and brief of the project by  Mr. Suhail Abdulla Al Ashkar  – Manager E-Government, RTA and other members from RTA and IBM to the IT and Business Students of Middlesex University Dubai. The first two sessions were held at Middlesex University Dubai campus. For the third session, the students visited the RTA headquarters where the students were awarded certificates of participation for the 3^rd session of wave 1 and received RTA giveaways.  During these sessions, the students got the opportunity to work closely with the project management teams from RTA and IBM.

To appreciate the students’ participation in the Wave 1 of the project, the RTA held an award ceremony at Middlesex University Dubai on September 16, 2014. Senior executives from RTA and IBM attended the ceremony along with staff and students from Middlesex University Dubai.

Mr. Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan -CEO Licensing Agency RTA, awarded the students with certificates of participation and iPads for their contribution to the Smart Government Project.  Mr. Bahrozyan appreciated and thanked Middlesex University Dubai and it’s students  for their active and efficient participation.
