Students present their research in the Annual Student Research and Innovation Showcase

On 9th March 2023, the Office of Student Research (OSR) at Middlesex University Dubai proudly held the 10th Annual Student Research and Innovation Showcase (SRIS).
This showcase celebrates the standard of research being produced by our undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the university departments, giving them an opportunity to present their outstanding work to their peers, faculty and guests.
Alongside celebrating a decade of quality, notable research from our students, this year was also our largest event to date, with 86 registered applicants submitting their research posters and prototypes, as well as creative pieces from our media programmes. Attendees saw projects on diverse topics including ‘attachment styles, alexithymia, and self-compassion’, ‘typhoon navibots’, ‘interdisciplinary leaders' perspectives about learning environments in higher education’, ‘zero hunger’, and an ‘environmental campaign to bring forests back to life’.
At Middlesex University Dubai, student research is one of the cornerstones of our academic community and we are immensely proud of our students’ research accomplishments. The Office of Student Research (OSR) was established with the goal of protecting, nurturing, and encouraging student research, and our internal team works hard to develop a strong, positive research culture within the student body through several initiatives such as this one. Many of our students have excelled in showcasing their research skills, including winning numerous national and international research awards, co-authoring academic journal articles, and presenting at academic conferences.
