“One day when I am big …”. What are we preparing children for?

Middlesex University Dubai’s Dr Lien Els (Associate Professor & Campus Programme Coordinator for MA People Management & Development) is hosting a session for school counsellors and school teachers across the UAE. The session aims to recognise the desire of children to have a bright future, as well as to understand the challenges and opportunities we face and how we can prepare children for such challenges. Dr Lien will also discuss effective leadership and how this can guide children towards a thriving and fruitful future.
Dr Lien will be conducting group activities during the session
Learning outcomes from this session:
- Recognise the desire of children, as young as they are, to have a bright and smart future.
- Understand the challenges and opportunities of the future and what we are preparing children for.
- Investigate our leadership intentions to guide children to be successful in futuristic organisations.

Dr Lien Els is an Associate Professor and Campus Programme Coordinator for MA People Management and Development. Dr Lien has numerous qualifications in education and a PhD from the University of Pretoria. Alongside her academic prowess, she is a member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD, UK), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, US) and the South African Business Council in Dubai (SABco). Dr Lien’s research interests include leadership trust and development, diversity and talent management.
