The Institute of Sustainable Development at MDX Dubai is pleased to welcome to you for a special guest lecture from Zan Strabac, Professor of Sociology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.

Titled ‘International Migrations of Low-Skilled Labour: The Case of Norway’, the lecture will present some of the main economic and social causes of global migratory pressures and will proceed with an overview of migrations of mainly low-skilled labour to Norway. Zan will focus on the main migratory trends and Norway’s policies on the social and economic outcomes of immigration.

Zan Strabac is a Professor of Sociology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. His main areas of research are quantitative research methods, migrations and ethnic relations. His articles have appeared in European Societies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Sociological quarterly, Social Science Research, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and Südosteuropa.
