The #ECOuture Campaign is a newly developed student-run campaign inspired by the Sustainable Fashion movement and UN Global Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; executed by Middlesex University students in Dubai.
Sustainability and fashion go hand in hand. The #ECOuture campaign hopes to bring attention to clothing consumption habits in the UAE, the process of how clothes are produced as well as the dyes used and their negative environmental impacts.
Over the course of over a month, these students have endeavoured to bring awareness and action-packed events to young adults alike with regards to the behaviour of fashion-related consumption trends. On the 27th of March, musical performances, a sustainable fashion Ramp Walk and a clothing revamp event will take place throughout the day!
Everyone is welcome to join and offer their support. After all, ‘With A Green Garment, There’s No Harm Meant!’
Some of our sustainability focused projects and activities will include:
- TED-esque talk
- Upcycling old clothes stall
- Fashion Ramp Walk with upcycled clothes
- Musical Event
- Petition Signing
