Q1. What made you choose Middlesex University Dubai?

I wanted to have a quality degree that would be recognised internationally.

Q2. What aspects of your course did you enjoy most

I had great professors that were willing to help me learn and develop my skills.

Q3. What is your fondest memory of life at Middlesex?

I made some of my dearest friends at Middlesex, group assignments were always challenging but made our bond stronger.

Q4. What one piece of advice would you give to a prospective student interested in studying at Middlesex?

Make the most of this opportunity. It is a great stepping stone towards your future.

Q5. Where has your professional life taken you since graduation?

I went to pursue a postgraduate qualification in Law in the UK.

Q6. Can you give an example of a time when you put the things you learned at Middlesex to practical use?

In my final year of study, I did an elective called Managerial Leadership. This course has helped me grow as an individual. I implement skills I developed from this course on a day to day basis. It taught me how to be an authentic leader, how to motivate others and how to forge weaknesses into strengths.

Q7. What made you choose the industry you work in and what are its pros and cons?

My interest in law was sparked with intellectual property, however after doing my postgraduate degree, I realised my heart is in litigation. Being a lawyer is challenging and demanding. I enjoy working under pressureand having to deal with unique challenges. The cons are that this field requires a lot of dedication and sacrifice.

Q8. What are the top three tips you would give to current students and recent graduates who are looking for a similar career to yourself?

  1. Your grades matter. Study hard, and differentiate yourself.
  2. Spend time to develop other skillsets, it makes you stand out.
  3. Try to learn from your failures. It is very competitive in the working profession, if you don’t have a thick skin you will be held back by fear and hesitation.

Q9. What one piece of advice would you give to the 17/18 year old you?

Enjoy your youth, play sports, get into the habit of being healthy. Cherish your body. There is no point having the best grades and topping academically, if your health suffers in the long run. Good grades don’t guarantee you get a good job.
