Q1. What made you choose Middlesex University Dubai?

I really wanted to study Psychology and Middlesex felt like the best place to do it. I completed the first year in Dubai and the last two in London, it was a fantastic experience.

Q2. What aspects of your course did you enjoy most?

I loved the practical side of psychology so I would say cognitive psychology was great, along with business psychology.

Q3. What is your fondest memory of life at Middlesex?

There were loads!! But I would have to say the second year in London was a year not to forget but in terms of the course, the best memory would be my dissertation, the whole process was gruelling but a lot of fun.

Q4. What one piece of advice would you give to a prospective student interested in studying at Middlesex?

University years are the best years in your life, cherish them, take it all in and never give up when you face different kinds of obstacles.

Q5. Where has your professional life taken you since graduation?

It’s taken me exactly where I wanted to be and in quick succession.

Q6. Can you give an example of a time when you put the things you learned at Middlesex to practical use?

I literally use what I learnt at Middlesex every day. My job requires me to assess and build relationships with the most Senior Management and psychology has a lot to do with it.

Q7. What made you choose the industry you work in and what are its pros and cons?

My dream was to work for an airline and I am grateful that I got the chance with Etihad Airways to apply my expertise, more importantly to gain the knowledge and experience that a huge company like this can give me. The pros of working in an airline are definitely the pace, the constant change and the robust environment. The cons would be there’s too much to do with little time, time management is key and sometimes I get trapped and lost.

Q8. What are the top three tips you would give to current students and recent graduates who are looking for a similar career to yourself?

1. Enjoy
2. Embrace it
3. Work smart

Q9. What one piece of advice would you give to the 17/18 year old you?

Responsibility is key and University is where you will really grow up. I would also like to add that making mistakes is not a bad thing, it’s a normal thing, in fact making mistakes is a good thing because you can learn from them, don’t be shy, university is the time to learn from your mistakes and thrive.
