Margo Tummel MA (Design)

Biography

After an early career in hospitality, Margo returned to university to study Visual Communication where she graduated with Honours from the University of South Australia, and subsequently a Masters in Design. Upon graduation she managed her own small graphic design business, as well as teaching Graphic Design studies at the University of South Australia. She was also an active member as secretariate for the South Australian Chapter of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA).

She has since worked as Senior Lecturer at Dubai Women’s College and Teaching Fellow with Winchester School of Art, University of South Hampton (China), while also designing textiles and co-directing her Australian fashion label byFIG.

She is now actively exploring ceramics as a creative artistic channel, applying her experience as a designer to her work. She has exhibited work at SIKKA and Design Days in Dubai.

Margo has over 25 years teaching experience, with her teaching and learning interests including Creative Thinking, Idea Generation, Editorial and Publication Design, Packaging Design, and Surface Pattern Design.
