Professor Cody Morris Paris PhD

Biography

Professor Cody Morris Paris is the Deputy Director of Research & Business and Head of The Business School at Middlesex University Dubai.  He holds a PhD in Community Resource Development, a MSc in Recreation & Tourism Studies and a BIS in International Geography and Political Science-International Studies with minors in Cultural Anthropology and Tourism from Arizona State University, USA. 

Cody has authored/co-authored nearly 100 academic articles, book chapters, and papers in conference proceedings and his research has been recognized with several prestigious awards including the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s (TTRA) Keeling PhD Dissertation Award, TTRA Charles Goeldner Journal of Travel Research Article of Excellence, and the IFITT Article of the year in Information Technology and Tourism.  He serves on the Editorial Boards of several leading journals and is the Editor in Chief of the e-Review of Tourism Research. He currently serves as the President of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the Travel and Tourism Research Association. He is also a Senior Research Fellow with the University of Johannesburg.

Cody is a social scientist with varied research and teaching interests within the areas of Tourism, Sustainability, Community Development, Technology, International Politics, International Business, Marketing, Digital Media and Higher Education.  He has supervised the dissertations of approximately 400 postgraduate and undergraduate students to completion across multiple disciplines including International Business, Marketing, International Relations, Sustainability, Education, International Development, Journalism, Digital Media, Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, and Tourism. 

Cody serves on the Board of Directors of Amizade (www.amizade.org), a global-service learning and community development NGO with UN Consultative Status.  He has travelled to more than 115 countries, and has developed and/or lead international study abroad, service learning, and other forms of experiential learning programmes to Caribbean, Australia, Fiji, United Arab Emirates, Europe, Singapore, Ghana, and North America.
