MDX Dubai Graphic Design students deepen industry connections during Career Day event

On 6th May 2021, 15 of our Graphic Design students had the opportunity to network with 10 recruiters from a range of prominent organisations during our Graphic Design Career Day. Organised as part of our ongoing virtual Career Day series, the event aimed to help our students enhance their career prospects ahead of graduation, give their work industry exposure, and connect them with internship opportunities offered by the companies in attendance.
The session began with a highly informative panel discussion with professionals from various design backgrounds, who discussed the current expectations Graphic Design students have of the industry. The panel was moderated by our very own Eddie Ryan, Senior Lecturer in our School of Art and Design, and speakers included Rana Sadek from IMPACT BBDO; Mohamad Badr from Brand Lounge ME; and Ghazwan Hamdan from Maek Digital Design Agency.
This was followed by a virtual Networking and Portfolio Viewing session, which provided the students with the opportunity to receive industry feedback on their portfolios, seek career guidance, and develop their presence in the job market. They were able to network with a wide range of employers from many industries such as Atlantis, Apparel Group, and Cheil Dubai.
