MDX Dubai signs MoU with Toshiba Gulf

Middlesex University Dubai signed an academic alliance with Toshiba Gulf on 28 October 2020. The agreement aims to explore opportunities for promoting engagement and sharing knowledge between Middlesex University Dubai and Toshiba. This partnership will provide the platform for student growth and learning, through workshops, trainings and guest lecture sessions that will be conducted at the university. In particular, the use of new and emerging technologies will be prioritised to ensure that students gain an understanding of state-of-the-art technology. Furthermore, a collaborative effort between Toshiba Gulf and Middlesex Dubai will be put forward towards organising and hosting various academic competitions and hackathons for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The agreement document was signed by Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director, Middlesex University Dubai, and Mr Santosh Varghese, Vice President, Toshiba Gulf FZE. The signing event was conducted virtually over Microsoft Teams and was organised by Dr Fehmida Hussain along with Dr Sameer Kishore. Several members of the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics were present during the signing ceremony.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
