Technovation 2019, another successful Fintech event

The finale of Technovation 2019, an internal Fintech competition, was held at Middlesex University Dubai’s Oasis Theatre on 17 December 2019. Seven teams of students presented their Fintech related ideas and prototypes to a panel of judges comprising of highly experienced and senior industry professionals. Krishna Kumar from Cognizant and Yusuf Ali Khan from Citibank were highly impressed with the innovative ideas and described the event as a learning experience for themselves.
Now in its second year, the competition saw students spending around 2 months brainstorming and refining their ideas to disrupt a business, leveraging technology.
The top 3 teams were awarded cash prizes sponsored by Al Futtaim Logsitics. Atul Kamath, Mohammed Kutubjiwala, Lester Concessao, Darsane Muralidharan and Fatima Jukkerwala, walked away with the winning prize of AED 1,000. Ishita Karamchandani, Abdul Rahman, Simroz Shroff, Mohammed Asif and Jay Soni, were the runners-up winning AED 750 and the third place winners of AED 500 were Lavesh Panjwani, Karishma Sukhwani, Mohammed Adnan Shees, Sheetal Subramanian and Sowmya Raghavan.
Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai opened the finale and gave away the prizes to the top 3 teams.
