MSc International Hospitality and Events students work with Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding

  • Wednesday, 24 April 2019

The Hospitality and Event Management Practicum module culminated in student presentations last week at the Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding in the Al Fahidi heritage district. MSc International Hospitality and Event Management students were given a series of tasks by the centre, which demanded they apply their prior learning on the programme to a practical, real world scenario.

Student Shreya D’Souza explained how she felt incredibly nervous about presenting a consultancy project to a client, but that afterwards ‘I am incredibly proud, I did it, and you know I haven’t had many opportunities to speak in public, but you have to start’. Fellow student Nickita Sampath expressed her gratitude towards the centre for hosting the group on their visits and for providing them with such an interesting project.

Students studying the MSc in International Hospitality and Event Management have numerous opportunities to practice their presentation skills and blend theory with practical real-world scenarios to develop problem solving and leadership abilities.
