The 10th meeting of the Future Lawyers Network was held on Sunday, 24th March 2019 at 4pm at our Campus in Dubai Knowledge Park and focused on Lawyers in the Tech Industry. We had the opportunity to welcome a wonderful panel of guests who explored the challenges and opportunities of legal careers in technology and shared their insights, their experience and their advice with our students.

Region Legal Counsel Middle East at Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Tarek heads the legal department for the Middle East region at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He is a leading expert in technology law and a vivid promoter of technology adoption within legal departments and law firms. He is also a member of the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law and the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He regularly advises on issues relating to technology and IP in the legal profession and has been a regular speaker at various legal conferences and seminars in the region.
Senior Associate Technology at Eversheds Sutherland
Erica is a senior associate at Eversheds Sutherland in Dubai. She has a background in commercial dispute resolution and specialises in emerging technology.
Erica is particularly interested in legal issues related to blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Big Data governance, algorithmic accountably, cloud computing, data protection and crypto-currencies. She also works with organisations and in-house legal teams on digital transformation journeys and is a big supporter of technology for the legal sector.
Erica trained with Eversheds Sutherland in London and she is an English law qualified solicitor with over five years of experience working in Dubai.

Yasmin is a bilingual results-driven legal professional with more than 14 years of in-house experience in leading Fortune Global 500 Corporations in the Oil and Gas industry and in the ICT sector with a broad range of legal and management skills developed in an international, fast paced and dynamic environment. During her career, she has acted as a business partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership in Egypt, U.S. and U.A.E covering multiple countries and advising on multiple jurisdictions.
Head of Fintech, Blockchain and Emerging Technologies at PWC Legal
Paul is an internationally qualified attorney with multi-jurisdictional legal experience of both in-house counsel and private practice. Having worked globally, he has experience from covering numerous countries spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. He is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association and admitted to practice law at the Dubai International Financial Center Courts (UAE) and the Beirut Bar Association.
