Middlesex University Dubai’s Team won the PwC Entrepreneurship Weekend Competition, with two teams from the University participating. The winning team, comprising of third year Accounting & Finance students Mahesh Menon, Jay Ashvin, Shaista Basheer and Aishwarya Venkitaraman took first position, beating eight other teams including postgraduate and undergraduate students from across the region.
The competition involved three rounds: the first round was a business quiz which tested how closely the students followed major events in 2017. Round 2 included an employability board game that tested workplace skills such as effective communication, emotional intelligence, negotiation, problem solving and presentation skills. The final round, ‘Student2Entrepreneur Challenge’ required students to come up with a detailed business plan.
Both teams participated wholeheartedly over the two days and impressed the judges in each round, receiving certificates and gift vouchers.
