MDX Dubai welcomes students to the new academic year 2017/18

MIddlesex University Dubai is welcoming more than 2,800 new and returning students to its Knowledge Park Campus for the first day of classes for the 2017/18 academic year on 24 September.

Celebration will start with Marhaba Week from 1st to 5th October. The annual event gives students the chance to meet others in their course join clubs, participate in various activities, enjoy flash-mobs, dance shows and much more.

"Marhaba Week is filled with great activities and events set to welcome new and returning students to the University for another busy year," said Dragana Symons, Student Activities Manager, Middlesex University Dubai. "Designed to bring students together and make the start of the year one to remember, activities include hip-hop classes, treasure hunt, movie afternoon, poetry slam and trivia."

"The 2017/18 academic year marks a number of milestones for the university, the highest number of students in our 12 years in Dubai, the first intake of students into the University's new School of Art and Design and launch of our post-graduate Law programmes. It also sees the establishment of the Centre of Academic Success which will provide a range of academic skills workshops, Student Learning Assistant, Learning Disability support and mental health counselling designed to help students achieve academic success" said Dr. Cedwyn Fernandes, Director, Middlesex University Dubai.

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
