Our student, Eva Lacher (3rd Year Journalism and Media), won first place in the Education and Social Sciences track at the 4th United Arab Emirates Undergraduate Student Research Competition (UGSRC) which took place yesterday in Abu Dhabi University. Eva’s presentation of her paper ‘The Political and Economic Motivations behind Orientalist Coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict in U.S. News’ was very well received by the judges. Her work was supervised by Eve Stubbs ( Media Lecturer). Congratulations to Eva and Eve on this outstanding achievement!
Over 200 teams and individuals from universities across the Emirates participated in the UGSRC, in six main divisions (Engineering, Business Administration, Arts and Social Sciences, Information Technology, Education, and Natural and Health Sciences) and individual tracks. In total, Middlesex University was represented by seven excellent student researchers.
