On Monday 15th of February 2016, the third year IT/BIS students at Middlesex University of Dubai visited the Dubai Museum for the purpose of designing and creating a Mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application for the museum.
As part of understanding the context in which users will experience the Dubai Museum AR application, the students inquired about the museum’s history and designated sections, peoples’ visits and experiences, the kinds of objects that are displayed and their relevant information and many more.. The students observed, made notes and took photographs, and so on to capture what they need to discover.
A special thanks to Mr. Salman Abdulrahman BuShelaibi and his team for their wonderful efforts in organizing a guided tour and providing MDX students the opportunity to conduct this project and prototype the “Dubai Museum” AR application. The field trip helped students collect data for their coursework in CMT3321, organized by Ms Engie Bashir, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics.
