The Gitex field trip is back for the fourth year in a row – and this year the trip was “fascinating” and “exciting” according to MDX students.
The first year students from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, Middlesex University Dubai, enthusiastically attended a day trip on October 21, 2015 to the GITEX exhibition, held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, the 3rd largest technology event on the planet held annually in the Gulf region. The field trip raised the students’ awareness on the Internet of Things and its rising on many industries. The field trip was an eye opener on many innovative demonstrations in Robotics, 3D Printing and Autonomous Vehicles and technological advancements in the field of Cloud Computing and Big Data.
MDX students have been put in charge of their learning during this trip and have expressed their learning experiences differently. A BEng student, Sharukh said “The trip was a really good experience…I got to interact with representatives of different organizations and see all the advancements in the Tech world.” Anusha also described her experience as fascinating and felt privileged to interact with representatives from Oracle, Cisco, EMC, and the “Android Robot Lady” from Etisalat. No doubt, the students agree that the trip was inspiring.
The students were accompanied by IT faculty members Ms. Engie Bashir and Mrs. Pallavi Ranjan and photographs were taken by our talented student Allen Mathew.
Stay tuned and check our calendar for upcoming trips including Masdar, 3M, Cisco and many more.
