Dr. Cody Morris Paris, Associate Professor and Programme Coordinator of MA International Relations and BA (Hons) International Politics Programmes at Middlesex University Dubai,  was elected to the Executive Board of ATLAS- The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research (http://www.atlas-euro.org/) during the annual members meeting at the Annual ATLAS conference in Budapest, Hungry held in October 2014. The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS) was established in 1991 to develop transnational educational initiatives in tourism and leisure. ATLAS provides a forum to promote staff and student exchange, transnational research and to facilitate curriculum and professional development. ATLAS currently has 218 member institutions in 68 countries.

 

In addition to his election to the Executive Board, Cody has also been appointed the ATLAS Middle East Coordinator with the task of establishing a new ATLAS Middle East chapter.   Cody has been involved in ATLAS for several years as co-chair of the Independent Travel Research Group. In this role, he has previously co-organized a symposium on Independent Travel in Beirut, Lebanon in January 2013. He also looks forward to coordinating an ATLAS Organized Symposium as part of the Tourism and Hospitality Track at the upcoming Third International Conference on Emerging Research Paradigms in Business and Social Science (ERPBSS2015) hosted by Middlesex University November 24-26, 2015 at the Park Hyatt Dubai (www.mdx.ac/conference).

The students of the Accounting and Finance Department celebrated the success of the second edition of the Financial Modeling Club (FMC2.0) on 6 March 2024. Led by students, this year’s FMC 2.0 featured four upskilling workshops and two competitions. A total of fifty-five students secured the Foundations Certificate in Financial Modeling, offered by our academic partner, FMI. Special congratulations to Chirag Kherajani for earning the Financial Modeling Institute scholarship for Advanced Financial Modeling certification.
