The Middlesex University Dubai Research Committee

The Middlesex University Dubai Research Committee aims to develop and foster research that reflects faculty interests and aspirations, to support student research, to promote the growing research culture of the Campus, and to establish innovative research projects with stakeholders.

Responsibilities of committee members include monitoring and reviewing research-related policies and procedures, raising awareness of research opportunities, supporting colleagues to publish research findings, managing the weekly research seminar series, overseeing research ethics on campus, and championing departmental and university-wide MDX Research Conferences.

Biography

Dr Fehmida is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a Chartered IT professional, with over 20 years’ of experience comprising senior leadership roles and teaching in higher education, as well as academic research and work within the IT industry. Dr Fehmida’s research areas include Cognitive Modeling, Health Informatics, e-Learning, Cloud Computing, and Digital Forensics. She is passionate about promoting careers for girls in STEM, and her philosophy about academia is to devise innovative practices in the classroom and beyond, to enrich the student experience and prepare future generations for the challenges of the 21st century.

Dr Fehmida’s learning and teaching interests include Object Oriented System Analysis and Design, Strategic Management and ISD, Ethical, Professional, Social and Legal Issues in Computer and Information Systems, Theory of Automata and Languages, Customer Relationship Management, and Computer Threats and Security.
