Track 2: Contemporary Psychology

Track Coordinator: Dr. Lynda Hyland ( –For any additional information or questions regarding submissions to this track, please contact the track coordinator directly.

The ‘contemporary psychology’ track includes themes across diverse areas of research, illustrating the breadth of our discipline. All of the themes (listed below) have a shared focus on recent developments in the generation and application of psychological theory. We are pleased to invite papers that identify, support, or challenge contemporary theory and practice through psychological research evidence. We hope that in doing so, we will generate productive discussion and debate on these issues.

Although we are open to any submission that is aligned with the goals of the conference and this track, we encourage submissions relating to the following themes:

  • Personality and individual differences
  • Social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in childhood
  • Systematic reviews in current psychological research
  • Recent developments in qualitative and mixed method research
  • The biopsychosocial model of health
  • Biological correlates of human behavior and problem solving
  • The role of psychology in talent management
  • Well-being throughout the lifespan
  • Cognitive task performance
  • Human intelligence and animal models
  • Psychology in Higher Education
  • Advances in neuroscience
  • Suicidality and prevention
  • Cross-cultural psychology
